Documents required for applying visa to work in South Korea

In Korean Embassy website (for Malaysia), they do not state clearly all the documents required, and the specific requirement of the documents. I have applied working visa for South Korea several times. My first experience was bad, as I have to return back for the 2nd time.  The lady at the counter informed me of the documents required specifically.  Subsequently, I do not have to make the 2nd trip for my subsequent application.

Documents required are (updated in January, 2019) :

1) Completed application e-form from Korean Embassy website, 5 pages printed double-sided (attached) -Click here to go to Korean visa application website
2) One recent passport-sized color photo with white background
3) Original passport and its photocopy (main page and Malaysian visa page only)
4) Letter from employer (stating date joined, current position, purpose and duration of travel to Korea, expenses borne). Note: if you are self-employed, write the letter for yourself. This is a mandatory requirement.
5) Recent company information print-out from SSM e-info - printed within 6 months (important!)
6) Letter of invitation from Korea (original hardcopy) - Your Korean counter part must post this document to you.
7) Copy of Korean company's certificate of registration and certificate of tax clearance
- printed within 3 months. Your Korean counter part must post this document to you.
8) Personal income tax receipt for the most recent tax year
9) Personal bank statements for the latest 3 months, certified by bank in Malaysia (shows salary credited)
10) Flight itinerary
11) Application fee RM160, cash
12) If you are self-employed, please make a copy of your university certificate and any other relevant qualifications.
13) If you are self-employed, please present your resume
14) For C4 visa, Letter of Guarantee. You can download the form here : C4 visa requirement
15) Additional documents may be requested upon assessment. Kindly refer to Korean Embassy website for any additional documents requested.

Application must be submitted over the counter at the Embassy between 8:30-11:30am Monday-Friday, except public holidays.

Processing takes at least 5 working days, excluding forms submission day. No express service.

If applicant is unable to come personally, a representative can submit the application on behalf of the
applicant instead.

Processing time
 Application will take at least 5 working days to process, not including the day of submission.
During this time, the applicant’s original passport will be kept at the Embassy and a receipt will be issued as proof. Please consider your travel plans carefully.
 There is no express service available. Calling the Embassy to hasten your application process will cause further delay instead.
 The earliest an applicant can apply is 3 months before the entry to Korea, as a visa will normally be valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
 Processing may take longer during peak application period, therefore please try to apply at least 2 weeks before you are supposed to be in Korea.
